Springfield College men's volleyball bows to Estonia in first match at World University Games

The Springfield College men's volleyball team, representing Team USA, played a competitive match, but was swept 22-25, 17-25, 18-25 by Estonia Saturday in its first competition at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia.

Luisa Vega led Springfield with 10 kills and two blocks while Ryan Quesenberry contributed six kills and two blocks. Jimmy Leary added four kills, and Nick Ferry stood out on defense with nine digs.

Estonia's roster was comprised of 10 members of its national team, and two from its junior national squad.

Springfield, which has won two consecutive NCAA Division III national championships, is the first Division III team to represent the United States at the World University Games.

The Pride faces Belarus Sunday at 10 a.m.
